Barrington, Illinois. Located only 35 miles from downtown Chicago, The Village of Barrington retains the charm and character that has made it special since its incorporation in 1865.

The "Barrington Area" comprises nearly 90 square miles. The population of the area hovers around 40,000 inhabitants; making it one of the least populated areas within the Chicago suburbs. The "Village" of Barrington, the hub of area activity has a population of approximately 9,600 people.

The Barrington area incorporates four counties, six townships, eight villages and various unincorporated areas all of which feed into one school system; Barrington School District 220, an award winning school district comprising eight elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. The schools consistently rate in the "top ten" of Chicago area schools.

Make sure to check out The Village and its unique shops and interesting restaurants; its tree lined streets with proud old Victorian houses. There is great diversity in the area with a sense of uniqueness yet the area allows easy access to Chicago and O'Hare airport.
