Established in 1866 along the railroad tracks, this community of 68,000 residents

The Palatine Park District maintains 44 parks, including the beautiful 18-hole
championship Palatine Hills Golf Course. The Family Aquatic Center features
two 180-foot slides, two tot slides, sand play area, 6-lane lap pool, and a
lawn area. Palatine Stables provide lessons and boarding. The Community Center
has an indoor track, gymnasium, gymnastics facilities, locker rooms, weight
and classrooms.
The Palatine Park District
also oversees and operates the George Clayson Historical Museum and Library.
The Salt Creek Rural Park District is located within the
boundaries of the southeast limits of Palatine. The Salt Creek Park District
is the "Best Kept Secret" offering a nine-hole executive golf course,
fishing, boating, youth and adult athletics and trips and a popular preschool
program.
